According to reliable sources, Alibaba's renowned 'Groundskeeper Monk,' Cai Jingxian, has tendered his resignation, marking his status on both internal and external platforms as 'retiring from the corporate world.'

Having dedicated 25 years to Alibaba, from August 1, 2000, to August 1, 2025, Cai Jingxian's leadership over systems that have operated seamlessly for the same duration underscores the forward-thinking design of Alibaba's technical architecture. This longevity also underscores the pressure of keeping pace with technological advancements.

In the nascent days of Taobao, Duo Long emerged as a pivotal engineer and the platform's inaugural programmer, spearheading the establishment of its transaction and forum systems. His meticulous and efficient approach earned him the nicknames 'Coding God' and 'Taobao Groundskeeper Monk' within the company.

Duo Long's contributions during Taobao's growth were invaluable, particularly in maintaining its search engine and optimizing the transaction system. This led to the internal mantra, 'when in trouble, find Duo Long.' His profile on Alibaba's internal network was lauded as 'the best of the best.'

Prior to Alibaba's IPO on Nasdaq on September 6, 2014, the updated prospectus included Cai Jingxian among three new partners. In 2023, he gracefully stepped down from his partnership role.

While Duo Long's current whereabouts remain a mystery, it is plausible that he has attained financial freedom. We extend our warmest wishes to Duo Long, hoping that everything aligns with his aspirations from this point onward.
