This shows that domestic mobile phones are actually under considerable pressure. In addition, domestic mobile phones face other pressures in October, such as inventory pressure, which will prompt them to seize the final opportunity of this year's Singles' Day to sell their phones.

In October, Qualcomm will launch its new high-end chip, the Snapdragon 8G4. It is reported that since this chip uses a fully self-developed core, its performance has improved by more than 40%. This chip will also be the first Qualcomm chip to surpass Apple in single-core performance, which will motivate domestic mobile phone manufacturers to fully promote the sale of Snapdragon 8G4-equipped phones.

With the launch of Snapdragon 8G4 phones, the previous generation of Snapdragon 8G3 and 8G2 phones will naturally undergo significant price reductions, and the reduction will be more intense than ever before due to their seemingly large inventory pressure. Singles' Day is undoubtedly the best time to clear inventory.

This year, domestic mobile phones have actually seen far less promotional efforts than in previous years. During last year's 618 shopping festival, domestic mobile phones followed Apple's lead in offering discounts of over 1000 yuan. However, during this year's 618, domestic mobile phones did not offer discounts on new models, only on older Snapdragon 8G2 models. During the subsequent summer shopping season, they also did not conduct large-scale promotions, whereas Apple's promotions continued from 618 to the summer holiday.

As the summer holiday drew to a close, some domestic mobile phone manufacturers began to panic and offered significant discounts, with price reductions of up to 1500 yuan even appearing ahead of the National Day promotions. However, the effectiveness of these promotions was poor due to the launch of the iPhone 16 and the upcoming Snapdragon 8G4 in October, making it an inappropriate time for domestic mobile phones to offer discounts.

As a result of domestic mobile phone manufacturers' arrogance, flagship phones are not selling well. During the 618 shopping festival, only Snapdragon 8G2 phones made it into the top 10 domestic mobile phone sales rankings, while the newer Snapdragon 8G3 phones did not. This result contrasts sharply with domestic mobile phone manufacturers' claims that their new flagship phones are selling well.

Moreover, they missed the summer shopping season, which may have led to significant inventory accumulation for some mobile phone manufacturers. Coupled with the current large-scale discount promotions, this further proves their inventory pressure. For clearing inventory, the best opportunity left this year is Singles' Day.

Another source of pressure on domestic mobile phones comes from Apple. To promote the iPhone 16, Apple increased the specifications without raising the price, maintaining the starting price at 5999 yuan. Recently, due to disappointing initial sales of the iPhone 16, some retailers have begun to offer discounts on the phone. If sales of the iPhone 16 remain sluggish, Apple may further reduce its price to attract customers, which will also put pressure on domestic mobile phones.

Given the lessons learned by domestic mobile phones during the 618 and summer shopping seasons, if they fail to seize the opportunity of Singles' Day, their inventory pressure will only increase. Should they really continue to keep their phones in storage like treasures? Such losses would be even greater, and it is unlikely that they would choose to do so.

For consumers, they have become more rational when it comes to domestic mobile phones, only making purchases when the price is right. In particular, they prefer domestic mobile phones priced below 3000 yuan; otherwise, they opt for iPhones. Faced with such consumer preferences, domestic mobile phone manufacturers must lower their prices or risk losing market share to Apple.

For domestic mobile phones, the domestic market is now more important than ever. Among various mobile phone brands, only one has a higher proportion of overseas shipments than domestic shipments. The rest of the domestic mobile phone brands rely heavily on the domestic market, which has become a market they must protect.
