He Zhiqi elucidated, "Pure electric vehicles lack engine intake and exhaust pipes, theoretically granting them superior wading capabilities compared to their fuel-powered counterparts. However, this advantage hinges on one critical factor: the battery pack's sealing must be up to par." He further stressed, "When water submerges half of the tires and the road's depth remains uncertain, it's wiser to circumvent rather than plow through. Safety should always be paramount."

Moreover, the poster unveiled by He Zhiqi offered several practical tips for vehicle usage. It advises drivers to proceed slowly and maintain a safe distance during rainy conditions, activate fog and hazard lights, and traverse water cautiously when the level doesn't surpass the vehicle's lower body edge. It's recommended to avoid deep water, refrain from restarting the engine if it stalls in water, and limit the use of driving assistance functions. When approaching wading areas, it's prudent to stop and use an umbrella or branches to gauge water depth. If the water level exceeds the vehicle's lower body edge, attempting to pass is ill-advised. Jinzhao News highlighted that several domestic new energy vehicle manufacturers have enhanced their wading and waterproofing technologies since the year's onset.
In March, BYD unveiled its second-generation Blade Battery, and the Yangwang U8 2026 model received an upgrade, incorporating emergency floating capabilities. Upon detecting a floating state, the vehicle automatically shuts down the engine, raises the suspension, and closes the windows within 5 seconds, enabling low-speed navigation and steering in water. Concurrently, Chery introduced the Rhino Battery technology, which boasts an IP68 waterproof rating, two-millisecond high-voltage power-off protection, a shell impact resistance of 1300 megapascals, and the ability to withstand six extreme vehicle usage scenarios, including wading.

Public data reveals that BYD delivered a staggering 1,808,500 new energy vehicles from January to June 2026, with 403,500 vehicles delivered in June alone. Overseas sales reached 174,900 vehicles, accounting for over 40% of the total sales for that month. In terms of vehicle series, the Dynasty and Ocean networks collectively contributed to over 80% of the total sales, with the Dynasty network's Yuan, Song, and Qin series leading the charge, while the Ocean network's mainstay comprised the Haishi 06, Dolphin, Seagull, and Seal models.
