On September 23, Xiaomi officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone series, the 18 Pro, featuring triple-camera systems co-engineered with Leica and covering a full range of focal lengths. Both the primary camera and the periscope telephoto camera boast high-resolution 200-megapixel sensors. Notably, the periscope telephoto camera's light intake has surged by nearly 280% compared to its predecessor. The periscope telephoto module—a pivotal component of this advanced imaging system—is supplied by Ofilm.

Public data indicates that Ofilm provides the latest periscope telephoto modules for both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models. These modules incorporate an internal focusing mechanism, ensuring sharp focus even at extreme zoom levels while maintaining a sleek, compact design. This collaboration builds on Ofilm’s previous supply of periscope telephoto modules for the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, marking the second consecutive generation of flagship smartphones to feature Ofilm’s technology.

Ofilm’s recent strategic moves underscore its swift advancement in the premium optics sector. According to its 2026 interim report, the company has achieved mass production of cutting-edge optics, including 7P lenses, periscope telephoto lenses, dual-group internal focusing lenses, and variable aperture lenses. These products have been integrated into the supply chains of major domestic smartphone manufacturers for their flagship devices. Additionally, Ofilm has successfully developed pioneering lens technologies, such as 8P ultra-high-resolution primary cameras, triple-group continuous zoom systems, and glass-plastic hybrid lenses. On the module front, innovations like floating macro modules, periscope telephoto macro modules, and Power prism ultra-condensing modules have entered scaled-up production. Significant technological strides have also been made in continuous optical zoom capabilities.

In the first half of 2026, Ofilm invested RMB 730 million in R&D, representing 9.31% of its operating revenue. High-end optical products remain the focal point of its investment strategy.
