On October 9, Jiangsu Yutel Optics Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yutel Optics") made its official debut on the Beijing Stock Exchange. The company publicly issued 17,666,667 new shares at a price of RMB 13.75 per share. Following the issuance, the total share capital stands at 70,666,667 shares, with publicly issued shares making up 25% of the total. The anticipated total funds raised amount to approximately RMB 243 million, with Guotai Junan Securities acting as the sponsor.

Yutel Optics specializes in the "connections" within optical modules and data centers. The company is mainly engaged in the research and development, precision manufacturing, and sales of optical connection products. It has been recognized as a national-level specialized and innovative "Little Giant" enterprise, a title awarded to small and medium-sized enterprises with strong innovation capabilities and growth potential in China.

From a financial standpoint, between 2023 and 2025, the company's revenue surged from RMB 212 million to RMB 333 million, with a compound annual growth rate of approximately 25%. The net profit attributable to the parent company climbed from RMB 41.87 million to RMB 69.17 million, experiencing a year-on-year increase of about 49% in 2025. However, growth significantly decelerated in 2026. In the first half of the year, revenue reached RMB 181 million, up only 4.14% year-on-year, and net profit was RMB 36.8957 million, showing a slight decline of 1.21% year-on-year. The company explained that it has a substantial number of orders on hand and is operating at full capacity. "Production capacity constraints are the biggest limiting factor for revenue growth," it stated.

The situation of "orders awaiting production capacity" is in line with the current high level of prosperity in the optical communications industry. LightCounting, a market research firm specializing in optical communications, predicts that the Ethernet optical module market will grow by 120% in 2026.

From a technological perspective, copper interconnects are nearing their physical limits. As a result, the transition from copper to optical in large-scale scenarios has become an inevitable trend. NPO/CPO (Near-Package Optics/Co-Packaged Optics) is driving the revaluation of passive component value. FAU (Fiber Array Unit) and optical engines form a one-to-one rigid match, and their usage increases with the expansion of large-scale applications.

Additionally, Stratistics MRC forecasts that the global data center optical interconnect market is expected to reach USD 20.98 billion by 2026, with a compound annual growth rate of 14.3%. The rapid expansion of downstream demand, combined with the company's own production capacity constraints, constitutes the primary contradiction for its current growth.

Driven by downstream demand, Yutel Optics is accelerating its production capacity expansion. Its Anhui production base commenced operations in the third quarter of 2026. The funded project, the "Fiber Optic Connector Production Base Construction Project," is expected to start operations from the end of 2026 to early 2027. It will require a ramp-up period to reach full capacity utilization.

Once completed, the project is anticipated to generate an additional annual revenue of RMB 353 million and a net profit of RMB 47.9564 million, with an after-tax internal rate of return of 16.53%. The company projects its full-year 2026 revenue to be between RMB 450 million and RMB 500 million, up 35% to 50% year-on-year, and the net profit attributable to the parent company to be between RMB 80 million and RMB 95 million.

Notably, the strategic placement list for this IPO sends a strong signal within the industry. Seven strategic investors subscribed for a total of 5.3 million shares. Hengtong Group subscribed for 2 million shares (RMB 27.5 million), Yangtze Optical Fiber subscribed for 400,000 shares (RMB 5.5 million), and Wuhan CITIC Technology Capital subscribed for 500,000 shares. The three optical communications industry capital firms subscribed for a total of 2.9 million shares, accounting for 54.72% of the total strategic placement.

The transformation of industry capital "from clients to shareholders" to some extent reflects their recognition of Yutel Optics' strategic value in the 400G, 800G, and even 1.6T high-speed optical connection supply chains. Currently, through strategic collaborations with leading enterprises such as Accelink Technologies, Yangtze Optical Fiber, and Hengtong Optic-Electric, the company's 400G to 800G connection components have been deployed in data center projects for Alibaba, Tencent, and ByteDance.

Beyond data centers, the fiber access sector also presents growth opportunities. With the domestic fiber access network upgrading from FTTH (Fiber to the Home) to FTTR (Fiber to the Room), coupled with the large-scale popularization of 5G and the evolution of 6G technology, the company expects the demand for fiber optic connectors in FTTR scenarios to be approximately 3 to 4 times that of FTTH.

Overall, Yutel Optics' listing represents a microcosm of the revaluation of passive components in the upstream optical communications industry chain. Amid the sustained expansion of AI computing power demand and the industry trend of optical interconnects transitioning from "optional" to "essential," the optical connector segment, which has long been undervalued, is now receiving dual pricing from the capital market and industry capital.

However, it should be noted that Yutel Optics is still relatively small in scale. The pace of capacity release and the ability to fulfill downstream demand will be key variables determining its long-term value.
