7 Billion Yuan in Orders Secured Until 2032! What Sets This Optical Company Apart?

Recently, Yangzhou Angao Optics Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Angao Optics”) has officially commenced production, with an annual demand for roughly ten thousand PC transparent components. The supply agreement is locked in until 2032, with a total contract value of approximately 700 million yuan (about 96 million U.S. dollars).

What has enabled Angao Optics to secure such a substantial order? What exactly does this long-term contract entail?

Angao Optics's competitive advantage stems from its ability to transform materials into mass-producible, vehicle-installable, and deliverable window assemblies. The true challenges in mass-producing PC windows lie in achieving coating scratch resistance, UV aging resistance, anti-yellowing properties, and precise optical distortion control after large-curvature surface molding. Angao Optics's innovative hardened hot-pressing process, which hardens the material prior to hot-press bending and molding, reduces processing costs by approximately 40% compared to traditional injection molding methods, while also overcoming the limitations of large-scale molding.

The PC glass utilized in XPENG AEROHT's flying car can bend nearly 90 degrees and offers significantly higher impact resistance than traditional glass, directly validating the effectiveness of this process route. The second phase of development, set to be completed by the end of November, will encompass “the entire process chain from surface treatment to coating,” targeting the highest value-added and most challenging-to-outsource segment in PC window mass production.

Moreover, Angao Optics stands out as the first automotive transparent plastic window manufacturer in China to have obtained both European E-mark and U.S. DOT certifications, granting it a first-mover advantage in the PC window front-end supply chain. Angao Optics also played a pivotal role in drafting the national standard GB/T 44570-2024 , which modifies and adopts ISO 11963:2019 and was implemented in April 2025. While participation in standard-setting does not directly translate into orders, it positions the company to influence testing methods and performance boundaries in discussions with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and material suppliers.

The company's diverse customer base further supports its transferability: from Ceer to XPENG AEROHT, and from explosion-proof windows for rail transit to the housing of unmanned torch-relay vehicles for the Beijing Winter Olympics, Angao Optics's PC transparent components have progressed beyond single-model or single-scenario validation stages. The tens of millions of yuan in Series A funding secured in May 2023, co-invested by the Xiaogan Innovation Industry Guidance Fund and Western Advantage Capital, provides a financial buffer for the production capacity ramp-up at the Yangzhou base.

However, the long-term order also presents certain challenges. The 700 million yuan contract is heavily reliant on a single customer, Ceer, whose mass production schedule remains uncertain. Ceer, a joint venture between the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Foxconn, has postponed the mass production launch of its debut model from the initially expected timeline. Public information indicates that mass production will now commence in January 2027, with the first customer deliveries in March 2027, significantly delayed from the initially promised 2025 timeline.

Angao Optics's full-year revenue for 2026 is projected to exceed 60 million yuan, with a steep ramp-up curve from project designation to large-scale delivery standing between it and the 700 million yuan order volume. The Yangzhou base's environmentally approved production capacity is 20,000 sets of laminated color-changing PC glass and 80,000 sets of intelligent window body components annually, totaling 100,000 sets. Clearly, the Ceer project alone cannot fully utilize the entire capacity.

The long-term order provides a guaranteed minimum revenue, but if the terminal sales volume of a single customer falls short of expectations, capacity utilization will immediately become a practical concern. Angao Optics's 700 million yuan order precisely highlights its high value but also underscores that its replicability depends on whether PC windows can transition from being “technical showcase components” in flagship models to more mainstream mass production configurations.

Angao Optics has already secured a scarce entry ticket: its first-mover certification locks in the entry timing, its coating and molding engineering capabilities ensure delivery quality, and its participation in standards and cross-scenario customer validations provide institutional positioning and evidence of transferability. These combined factors establish its difficult-to-replace position in the PC window processing segment in the short to medium term.

However, a long-term order does not automatically equate to long-term competitiveness. After the second-phase process chain is closed, the real test lies in whether Angao Optics can solidify the color-changing, coating, and system integration capabilities validated in the Ceer project into standardized solutions that more OEMs are willing to directly adopt. The order locks in a guaranteed revenue until 2032, but standardized capabilities will determine the company's growth potential beyond that.
