I. Introduction

The RX 9070 GRE, launched in May with a retail price of 4199 yuan and 12GB of memory, often draws comparisons to the RTX 5070 among gamers. However, its true rival is the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. Within two months, the RX 9070 GRE's price dropped to 3799 yuan, just 200 yuan more than the cheapest RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, which typically retails at 3899 yuan for non-public versions.

Both AMD and NVIDIA's intentions are clear: AMD aims to compete with the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB using the RX 9070 GRE, and NVIDIA is ready to meet the challenge.

Given their similar price points, which offers superior performance and better value for money?

Since neither graphics card has a public version, we chose the Sapphire RX 9070 GRE Pulse for AMD and the MSI RTX 5060 Ti 16GB Ventus 3X OC for NVIDIA. Besides directly comparing performance, we also assessed the frame rate differences between the latest and original drivers for both cards.

The test platform is as follows:

For the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, the initial test driver was GeForce 575.94, and this time we retested with GeForce 577.00. The Sapphire RX 9070 GRE used Adrenalin 25.5.1 at launch and will now be tested with Adrenalin 25.6.3.

Test Data Summary:

At 2K resolution, the RX 9070 GRE exhibits virtually no difference between the new and old drivers, with a mere 0.1% performance variation.

The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, however, sees a 1% performance dip with the new driver, primarily due to a notable decline in "Black Myth: Wukong".
