On August 14, multiple media outlets reported that Ideal Auto convened an internal meeting to announce substantial changes to its sales and service system's organizational structure. The 'Five War Zones' framework, introduced in March this year, has been discontinued, with headquarters now overseeing 23 regions nationwide.
This realignment of the sales and service system aims to more efficiently allocate resources to the sales frontline, responding to the rapid shifts in the current market environment and the intensified competitive pressures. Notably, this adjustment does not extend to other business departments for the time being.
Han Xi, previously the head of the Central Region within the Five War Zones, has been appointed as the head of Ideal's sales operations, directly reporting to Ma Donghui, the President of Ideal Auto. Zhai Shaohui will lead the service operations department, while Lv Renming will head the sales support department.
Simultaneously, Ideal Auto is establishing two new departments: marketing and sales and service operations. Feng Wei, who previously served as the head of commercial lead operations at Dongchedi, will helm the marketing department. The sales and service operations department will be led by Fan Chenjie, an early Ideal employee who was previously the head of data operations at Autohome.
Since the start of the year, Ideal Auto has implemented several key adjustments to its organizational structure and management system. On June 27, the company internally announced a new organizational reshuffle and personnel appointments, integrating the original 'Research and Development and Supply Group' and 'Sales and Service Group' into the newly formed 'Smart Auto Group', which is responsible for the strategy to operational closed-loop of smart auto business. President Ma Donghui took on the role of head of the Smart Auto Group, reporting to Chairman and CEO Li Xiang. Li Xiang will continue to oversee teams related to the automotive business, including product lines, product departments, branding, and strategy, while dedicating more focus to AI initiatives.
On July 14, according to the 21st Century Business Herald, to support the deployment and application of forthcoming self-developed large models, Ideal Auto restructured the 'System and Computing Group', establishing a new computing resource department and enterprise intelligence department.
On July 17, Market Vision reported that Ideal Auto has abandoned its previous Huawei PBC (Personal Business Commitment) performance management model and will revert to the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) model. This change comes just two years after the company prominently introduced PBC in March 2023.
These continuous adjustments to structure, personnel appointments, and the establishment of new departments reflect Ideal Auto's efforts to navigate market challenges. The specific outcomes of these measures remain to be seen.
Furthermore, on August 13, Ideal Auto officially announced that nationwide deliveries of the first batch of Ideal i8 will commence on August 20. Subsequently, Li Xiang posted that one of the September goals is for Ideal i8 deliveries to surpass 8,000, with an ambitious target of 10,000.
The Ideal i8, priced starting at 321,800 yuan, is Ideal's inaugural pure electric SUV, initially available in three versions: Pro, Max, and Ultra. However, one week after its launch, Ideal announced that the three versions would be consolidated into a single MAX configuration with optional extras, adjusting the price to 339,800 yuan.
On August 14, Li Xiang reiterated that the Ideal i8 is in a unique 'must-have' competitive position, with no genuine rivals in terms of product capabilities.
