The most expensive product of Hongmeng Smart Mobility has finally been launched.

On May 30th, Zenith S800 was officially unveiled, with Lei Tech/Dianchetong invited to attend the event. It has been six months since the new car's first appearance. During this time, Zenith S800 has also showcased real cars, held blind bookings, and held technology conferences, maintaining high market enthusiasm.

Before announcing the price, Dianchetong believed that the purchase threshold for Zenith S800 would be lower, not completely falling into the price range of 1-1.5 million yuan. As expected, the new car comes in four versions, priced between 708,000-1,018,000 yuan, nearly 300,000 yuan cheaper than the initially estimated price threshold.

Yu Chengdong has repeatedly stated that Zenith S800 is a product that "far surpasses Maybach and Rolls-Royce." He also previously revealed that Zenith S800 received 2,108 orders within 48 hours of opening pre-orders. Judging from Zenith S800's official guidance price, Dianchetong wonders if Maybach and Rolls-Royce feel pressured, but NIO ET9 might be the one under the most pressure.

It's quite astonishing that such an expensive luxury car can generate such a strong intention to order in the domestic market. However, whether these small quantities can be converted into truly large quantities depends on how Zenith S800 surpasses Maybach and Rolls-Royce in various aspects, providing consumers with value beyond their expectations.

These configurations and parameters are revealed for the first time!

Zenith S800 has been unveiled for a long time, so Dianchetong focuses on interpreting the configurations and parameters revealed for the first time.

First, the official quickly interpreted the exterior parameters of Zenith S800, such as a drag coefficient as low as 0.206Cd, a more unique and complex paint process, etc., as well as six body colors and multiple wheel hub designs to choose from. Like models like Wenjie M9, Zenith S800 also features a welcome light and vehicle language system.

A feature that amazed Dianchetong is the smart electric door. After connecting with perception hardware such as lidar and millimeter-wave radar, Zenith S800 can not only detect dynamic and static obstacles but also support gesture-controlled door opening and closing.

Next are the interior parameters. Zenith S800 has a wheelbase of 3370mm, providing 1033mm of headroom and 959mm of legroom in the first row, and 1018mm of headroom and 1240mm of legroom in the second row. The trunk also has a basic volume of 445L.

On this basis, Zenith S800 offers two seating layouts: four seats and five seats, but both layouts provide dual zero-gravity seats.

The materials used are generous, with wool carpets, crystal, red mahogany, solid wood trim, and more, all generously used.

In terms of configuration, it is clearly Zenith S800's strength. Features such as a 76-inch head-up display system, rear small table, ADS debut, variable starry sky ceiling, full four-zone independent air conditioning, privacy screen, directional voice control, and more are all present. Both front and rear seats come with headrest speakers, massage, ventilation, and heating functions. Of course, the relatively novel function should be the original intelligent light-tracking feature.

Simply put, when you use configurations like the table, fridge, and cup holder, the light can follow and illuminate. The reason why luxury cars can become luxury cars is because they can do enough in these small details.

For users who value privacy, the elevating space screen is undoubtedly one of their favorite configurations. When the screen comes down, it forms two private spaces for the front and rear rows, and also ensures visual isolation between the front and rear rows through a one-click privacy function. In addition, the privacy of the main driver's chat records, navigation records, and other information is also guaranteed.

Rear seat privacy may seem unimportant, but before choosing new energy vehicles, Zhou Hongyi mentioned that privacy must be considered when selecting a car. The fundamental reason is that the audience needs a closed environment to ensure privacy during business communication.

Finally, there are the power parameters. Zenith S800 offers an extended-range version and a pure electric version. Among them, the pure electric dual-motor version has a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.3s, the extended-range tri-motor version has a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.7s, and the extended-range dual-motor version has a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.9s, all achieving a sub-5-second acceleration.

As for charging speed, it only takes a maximum of 12 minutes and 10.5 minutes for the pure electric and extended-range versions to charge from 10% to 80%, respectively.

What is quite astonishing is the endurance. The extended-range dual-motor version has a comprehensive range of 1,333km and a pure electric range of 400km, while the extended-range tri-motor version also has a comprehensive range of 1,200km and a pure electric range of 365km.

In terms of overall performance and endurance, the experience gap between the dual-motor version and the tri-motor version is not significant. As for how to choose, it depends on the price.

To dare to compete with well-established brands like Rolls-Royce and Maybach with its first product, one must say that Zenith is indeed bold. This is also the fundamental reason why the Zenith brand has been controversial since its launch.

There has never been a rule in the market that "the first product cannot compete with well-known brands." Zenith is not wrong in doing so. However, in Dianchetong's view, for Zenith S800 to be recognized by the market, it needs to demonstrate differentiated advantages and tell consumers which configurations are unique to Zenith S800. The most critical highlight is the Tuling Longxing platform. The limits a vehicle can achieve in terms of power, handling, and scalability depend on the platform.

The traditional approach to manufacturing luxury fuel vehicles is "modular," which is equivalent to combining various systems such as power and steering after they are individually developed. However, in the era of new energy, consumers have increasing demands for intelligence, comfort, and safety. Traditional manufacturing approaches have drawbacks such as slow electrical signal transmission speeds. Fortunately, scheduling and computing capabilities are precisely Zenith S800's strengths.

The Tuling Longxing platform is a fully integrated architecture, meaning control over multiple domains such as the body, power, and steering is handed over to a central computing platform, improving end-to-end scheduling and processing capabilities by 10 times.

Moreover, the platform also integrates a perception and prediction network, learning and reasoning information such as ADS perception, cloud data, and vehicle status to achieve a full-dimensional coordination effect, enabling proactive actions in emergency situations.

The official emphasizes that Zenith S800's control decisions can be predicted up to 200ms before an event occurs, allowing it to perceive situations in advance even in extreme road conditions and vehicle conditions such as rainy and foggy weather, bumpy roads, and tire blowouts.

The functions demonstrated at the conference, such as emergency obstacle avoidance on icy roads, emergency handling of front tire blowouts, "Lingbo Weibu" (a maneuverable movement), a maximum 16° crab walk, and one-turn U-turns in two lanes, are all technical presentations of the Tuling Longxing platform.

The second highlight is the full-link protection technology. Traditional luxury fuel vehicles can invest heavily in passive safety configurations, but their capabilities in active safety configurations are not as prominent. At most, they can tighten seat belts, close windows and sunroofs, etc., before detecting an impending collision. However, Hongmeng Smart Mobility has already applied an omnidirectional collision avoidance system in its products such as Wenjie and Xiangjie, demonstrating a "radical" approach to safety.

The full-link protection technology adds four major functions to the omnidirectional collision avoidance system: fog and dust weather collision avoidance, front and rear sandwich collision avoidance, negative/suspended collision avoidance, and extreme collision autonomous protection, enabling it to handle more extreme road conditions.

The last highlight is the previously mentioned privacy advantage.

Admittedly, Huawei Xinghe Communication, Huawei Vehicle Language System 2.0, and the industry's first smart purification cabin with Hongmeng ALPS Cabin 2.0 are also selling points of Zenith S800. However, the first two configurations are already available on the 500,000-yuan Wenjie M9, not enough to make Zenith S800 attractive to high-end market audiences. Although the purification capability of Hongmeng ALPS Cabin 2.0 is strong, with in-car air quality exceeding national standards by 55 times, consumers are not as perceptive of such "invisible configurations."

Before the emergence of Zenith S800, not only domestic but also global consumers' imagination of luxury executive sedans revolved around profound brand heritage, technical heritage of the three major components, top-notch materials, luxurious configurations, prestigious services, and more.

While Zenith S800 does not have a history of over a hundred years, the above four highlights can be said to be difficult for traditional luxury brands to achieve in the short term. This gives Zenith the confidence to compete with Rolls-Royce and Maybach.

Zenith has changed the landscape of high-end luxury cars

As a luxury executive sedan, Zenith S800's market audience is inevitably small. It may achieve impressive sales figures in the early stages, but it remains to be seen if it can keep up later. If annual sales reach over 7,000 units, like NIO U8, then Zenith S800 will have been successful.

As of press time, the official has not released specific large-quantity data. However, based on the fact that 2,108 orders were placed within 48 hours of opening pre-orders, other ultra-luxury brands cannot sell 2,000 units in a year. Even without sufficient historical accumulation and the support of large-displacement engines, Zenith S800 can rely on technology and intelligence to change the landscape of the domestic luxury executive sedan market.

In terms of the current new energy market, automotive brands with strength in technology and intelligence are not limited to Hongmeng Smart Mobility. The launch of Zenith S800 also provides a template for other domestic brands to compete in the luxury executive sedan market. Traditional fuel luxury sedans can no longer "rest on their laurels" in the domestic market at least.

According to previous revelations by '36Kr Auto,' Hongmeng Smart Mobility will launch over 10 new models this year, including Zenith's second mass-produced vehicle, which might be a luxury executive SUV.
