On October 3, Fengcheng Zhuoxin Logistics held the opening ceremony for its new location and a strategic cooperation signing ceremony in Fengcheng, Jiangxi, reaching a strategic procurement agreement with SANY Heavy Truck for 150 electric heavy trucks. Xiong Junbang, the head of Sales Management at SANY Heavy Truck, attended the event, and both parties completed the unveiling and signing, with the new vehicles making an on-site appearance.
This cooperation represents a further expansion based on last year's foundation. In August last year, SANY Heavy Truck had already delivered 70 electric heavy trucks to Zhuoxin Logistics in five batches. After a year of operation, the performance of the vehicles under actual working conditions has been recognized by the customer, leading to this larger-scale procurement. Huang Zhiyong, the Chairman of Zhuoxin Logistics, stated that the company will continue to adhere to the concept of green development, relying on the advantages of SANY's new energy equipment to continuously expand its green transportation capacity and achieve model upgrading.
From the perspective of order size, the procurement of 150 electric heavy trucks is considered a relatively large-scale purchase among regional logistics enterprises in China. Located in the hinterland of central Jiangxi, Fengcheng is an important transportation hub for coal, building materials, and ceramics in Jiangxi, with dense short-haul freight scenarios in the region, where the economic advantages of electric heavy trucks are more evident. Xiong Junbang from SANY Heavy Truck stated that the 150 units are just the beginning, and subsequent operational support will follow to ensure that every vehicle can operate reliably and profitably.
The large-scale deployment of electric heavy trucks cannot be achieved without the supporting infrastructure for charging and battery swapping. Currently, SANY Heavy Truck has launched both charging and battery-swapping product routes, with the battery-swapping heavy trucks capable of rapid energy replenishment in 5 minutes, suitable for high-frequency short-haul scenarios. The specific models and energy replenishment solutions purchased by Zhuoxin Logistics have not been disclosed, but the operational efficiency, energy consumption costs, and fleet management methods after batch delivery will become important samples for observing the commercialization of electric heavy trucks in the region.
This cooperation also reflects that electric heavy trucks are transitioning from 'pilot demonstrations' to 'large-scale operations.' With the decline in battery costs, the improvement of charging and battery-swapping networks, and preferential road rights policies, more and more logistics enterprises are beginning to incorporate electric heavy trucks into their main transportation forces. The 150-unit order from Fengcheng Zhuoxin Logistics provides an observable case for the green logistics transformation in Jiangxi and even the central region of China.
