Kuaikeji, October 12 News: Apple’s highly anticipated first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, is set to open for pre-orders on October 16. At this crucial time, Apple executives have arrived in China to inspect the production and supply chain operations for the new device.

According to media reports, Apple’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sabih Khan recently visited the Foxconn Technology Park in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, to personally inspect the production status of Apple’s latest offerings.

It is noteworthy that the iPhone Duo is exclusively assembled and manufactured at Foxconn’s China plant, which is currently intensifying efforts to prepare stock for the upcoming release.

During his visit, Sabih Khan toured key stages of the iPhone Duo production line, including the production line for the iPhone 18 Pro’s rear camera module, the anodizing workshop for the exterior frame, and the intelligent manufacturing workshop for SoC chip-level surface sputtering.

In an interview, Sabih Khan remarked that the Foxconn campus in Zhengzhou can be considered the world’s largest iPhone manufacturing facility, and indeed the largest smartphone manufacturing plant globally.

It has been reported that by the end of 2025, Foxconn, in collaboration with the state-owned asset platform of the Zhengzhou Airport Economic Zone Administrative Committee, will jointly establish Henan Hongchuang Technology Co., Ltd.

This marks Foxconn’s first joint venture with a state-owned enterprise in Zhengzhou, boasting a registered capital of 2 billion yuan. The new company will primarily focus on the research, development, and manufacturing of high-end electronic components.

The company commenced production in July this year, and it is projected that the cumulative output value of the project’s first phase will reach 100 billion yuan.

Apple’s official website indicates that the iPhone Duo will officially open for pre-orders at 20:00 on October 16, with sales commencing on October 23. The Chinese version of the device will start at a price of 15,999 yuan.
