Kuaikeji, October 12 – The Passenger Car Association has just released the wholesale sales data for passenger vehicles in September. The figures show that 23 models managed to sell over 20,000 units, an increase from the 21 models that achieved this feat the previous month. This uptick underscores the heightened competition in the market.

Leading the pack is the BYD Song, with an impressive 69,266 units sold. It directly outperformed the Tesla Model Y, which secured the second position with 62,948 units sold in September.

Another BYD model, the Yuan UP, claimed the third spot with 62,711 units sold. This means that two out of the top three models hail from BYD, a testament to the brand's strong market presence.

The Geely Xingyuan took fourth place, with 60,871 units sold. This model has been creating quite a stir lately, propelling it into the upper echelons of the sales charts. Delving deeper into the list, the BYD Seagull sold 38,650 units, while the Dolphin sold 35,141 units. This indicates that BYD's small cars, which focus on volume sales, continue to perform exceptionally well.

The Tesla Model 3 ranked eighth, with 32,418 units sold, revealing a significant sales gap when compared to its sibling, the Model Y.

Several new domestic models also made their mark on the list. The Fangchengbao Titan 7 sold 32,144 units, the Qiyuan Q05 sold 29,064 units, and the Leapmotor A10 sold 24,457 units. Many of these new models have firmly established themselves, crossing the 20,000-unit sales milestone.

It's not just new energy vehicles that are holding their own; traditional fuel-powered vehicles are also maintaining a strong position. Stalwart fuel models like the Ruigu 7, BinYue, Boyue, Jetour Traveler, and Xingyue L all exceeded 20,000 units in sales.

A quick tally reveals that among the 23 models that surpassed 20,000 units in sales, BYD accounts for eight models: Song, Yuan UP, Seagull, Dolphin, Fangchengbao Titan 7, Seal 06, Sealion 06, and Yuan PLUS. This represents over one-third of the total, showcasing BYD's remarkable production scale.

As September marks the peak sales season for automobiles, many models have achieved outstanding results. However, the competition at the top is fierce, with a mere 6,318-unit difference between the first-place BYD Song and the second-place Model Y.

Following the peak sales in September, the 'Silver October' sales period is on the horizon, with major automakers continuing to battle for market share. Subsequent sales rankings are anticipated to keep fluctuating.
