As the year hurtles towards its conclusion, the final month of 2024 is swiftly drawing to a close. This period marks a pivotal moment for automakers aiming to bolster their annual sales figures. To meet their ambitious targets, numerous automakers have rolled out limited-time purchase incentives. According to partial data, over 20 auto companies, including BYD, Li Auto, Dongfeng Honda, Tesla, and SAIC-GM-Buick, have launched the final sales push of 2024 through various avenues such as cash discounts, financial schemes, national subsidies, and local incentives.
1. Tesla: Up to 60-Month, 0% APR with Instant RMB 10,000 Discount
Tesla has introduced a purchase policy offering up to 60 months of 0% interest, valid until December 31, exclusively for the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y. This policy grants consumers greater flexibility in their purchasing options, lowering the barrier to entry and easing repayment pressure. With a reasonable down payment, the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive variant can save approximately RMB 18,980 under a 5-year, 0% interest plan, while the Model Y Long Range AWD variant can save around RMB 26,347. Additionally, Tesla has unveiled a limited-time Model Y delivery promotion, featuring an instant RMB 10,000 discount on the final payment, further reducing the overall purchase cost. The starting price of RMB 239,900 marks the lowest price point for the Model Y since its inception. This globally competitive pricing is poised to attract cash-holding Tesla enthusiasts, potentially driving another sales surge for Tesla in December.
2. Li Auto: Up to 36 Months of Interest-Free Financing
To lower the purchasing threshold and stimulate sales, Li Auto has launched a purchase policy offering up to 36 months of interest-free financing across all models, valid until December 31. The minimum down payments for each model are as follows: Li MEGA at RMB 159,800, Li L9 at RMB 129,800, Li L8 and Li L7 at RMB 99,800, and Li L6 at RMB 69,800. Consumers also have the option of a 5-year low-interest loan plan, saving them between RMB 15,700 and RMB 27,700 in interest. Li Auto emphasizes "no hidden fees, no gimmicks," offering consumers peace of mind during the car-buying process. The announcement of minimum down payments for each model provides consumers with a clear budgetary reference for their vehicle purchases. Additionally, installment payments alleviate financial pressure. Amidst the year-end sales rush, this policy is sure to capture consumers' attention, bolster sales, and propel Li Auto towards its annual sales target.
3. Dongfeng Honda: Comprehensive Discounts and 5-Year 0% Interest on Multiple Models
Dongfeng Honda is offering price reductions on four popular models—Insight L, CR-V, Inspire, and Civic—with varying degrees of discounts. Notably, the Civic starts at just RMB 95,900, with comprehensive discounts of up to RMB 41,000. The CR-V and Inspire models offer discounts of RMB 50,000 and RMB 57,000, respectively, with starting prices of RMB 135,900 and RMB 125,800. While Insight L currently does not offer a clear price discount, the 5-year 0% interest financial plan undoubtedly reduces the financial burden of purchasing a new car. Dongfeng Honda's affordable pricing, durability, and economical usage costs make these classic models appealing to many families.
4. BYD: Continuous Momentum from the Dynasty Series with Direct Discounts and Free Maintenance
Despite already achieving its sales target for the year, BYD's Dynasty series models continue to push forward. In addition to introducing limited-time discounts starting at RMB 99,800 for the second-generation Song Pro DM-i and Qin PLUS EV Honor Edition, BYD has also launched a limited-time promotional campaign titled "Welcome the New Year with a New Car, Celebrate the Spring Festival Even Better." Consumers purchasing the Qin L DM-i from December 27 to January 26 will receive up to RMB 5,000 in full vehicle insurance coverage from the manufacturer. Furthermore, car buyers can avail one of the following financial benefits: "0 down payment, 0 interest, 0 monthly payments," up to RMB 25,000 in trade-in subsidies, and various car purchase perks encompassing intelligent connectivity, warranty, charging, and extended warranty. Consumers purchasing the second-generation Song Pro DM-i during the campaign will also receive a combined subsidy of RMB 24,000 from both national and manufacturer sources for trade-ins (subject to national policy), alongside multiple financial policies and car purchase benefits such as "0 down payment," "0 interest," "0 monthly payments," and an original equipment manufacturer extended warranty. Moreover, customers completing the purchase and invoicing of the Qin PLUS EV before 24:00 on December 31, 2024, can enjoy various financial plans, including a minimum 0% down payment, up to 5-year ultra-long loans, 24-month 0% interest, and 1-year 0% interest with 0 monthly payments. They are also eligible for numerous perks, such as a "6-year or 150,000-km vehicle warranty," "lifetime free OTA system upgrades," "2 years of free cloud services," "up to 2 years of free in-car data," and "free charging pile installation (for specified models)." BYD is laying the groundwork for next year's vehicle sales, aiming for even higher sales figures in 2025.
5. SAIC-GM-Buick: Limited-Time Fixed Prices on Multiple Models, Free Compulsory Traffic Insurance with Purchase
Buick's official price reduction campaign this time around is substantial, encompassing multiple market segments. Models such as the LaCrosse Platinum Edition, Avenir Platinum Edition, Envision, Buick GL8, and Buick E5 are participating in the discount activities. Additionally, customers purchasing any Buick model by the end of the year will receive free compulsory traffic insurance. The limited-time fixed-price promotions for models like the Envision Plus, LaCrosse Platinum Edition, Avenir Platinum Edition, and Buick E5 will continue until the year's end. Apart from trade-in subsidies, Platinum models will also receive an exclusive "Platinum Kit." Specifically, the 2025 Buick LaCrosse Platinum Edition starts at a fixed price of RMB 159,900, the Avenir Platinum Edition at RMB 189,900, the Buick E5 at RMB 169,900, and the GL8 Land Business Class at a limited-time offer price of RMB 197,900. Customers can also avail perks such as 24-month 0% interest and low down payment financial plans, along with up to RMB 30,000 in trade-in subsidies. The recent decline in Buick sales has put considerable pressure on the SAIC-GM Group. Buick is striving to win over consumers with honest fixed pricing, and the results have been notable, with sales exceeding 40,000 units in November. With more fixed-price models introduced in December, Buick's sales are anticipated to surge further.
